1.) Experiment with the skin of mixing metals:
It used to be taboo to mix different colored metals together. I never understood this because I love them all. But according to fashion police, there is no need to stick to all silver or gold. Think about the charms or pendants you wear that contrast to the color of your necklace chain.
Different colored metal actually adds a vibrant interest to your outfit. One of my favorite things to do when shopping for new jewelry is finding different colored necklaces & bracelets that look amazing together, and complement each other with their differences.2.) Accessorize to compliment your clothing when getting dressed:
It sounds easy enough, but I know I don’t always do it. Before you get dressed take a minute to think about what you most want to wear to wherever you’re going. You may have a special necklace or bracelet you want to wear to a special occasion; in this case, you should choose your clothing and other accessories to match it.
3.) Don’t be a slave to trends:
Trends influence what we wear to an extent, which is fine. But it’s never good to follow fashion trends at the expense of your own style. Instead, try to figure out and evolve the style that suits you and makes you feel confident. When choosing jewelry to wear, always think about what works with your coloring, frame a general sense of style.
4.) Match your necklace to your neckline: Your necklace or pendant should be visible and it should enhance your outfit. If you have a V-necked outfit then a pendant sitting in the V above your cleavage will work wonders. A long necklace will look great over higher necked or crew-necked clothing. And a rounded necklace is good with a scoop or other rounded necklines.
5.) The most important rule:
Ignore the rules! Break the rules as you see fit. Dressing up should be fun and personal to you. Your style represents who you are as an individual and how you want others to see you. Fashion “rules” are really just suggestions for us to try out, so be yourself and own it, girl!
If what works for you is doing whatever you want with your style and ignoring mine or anyone else’s fashion tips, then my advice is GO FOR IT! 😍
